Mega Millions jackpot increases to $96 million

November 24th, 2008

ATLANTA — The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery drawing grew to $96 million Friday.

None of the tickets sold for Friday’s $86 million drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball. The next drawing will be Tuesday.

There were seven second-prize winners from Friday night’s drawing, matching five numbers to win $250,000. Another 27 players matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.

No California players matched five numbers. But four California players matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. The prize amounts in California are different than what prize winners in the other Mega Ball participating states would receive.

The winning numbers from Friday’s drawing were: 1, 22, 52, 53 and 56. The Mega Ball number was 45.
