The Winning Powerball Numbers are in (11, 34, 41, 49, 55, Powerball was 20, the Power Play multiplier was 2) and a single ticket has taken the mammoth jackpot. The ticket, sold somewhere in Missouri, is worth over $258.2 Million or $124 Million in a one time lump sum payment.

Powerball ticket sales were averaging around $20 million/day for the past 4 days as true lotto hysteria was starting to kick in.

The giant jackpot comes just 5 weeks after Sandra McNeil , a New Jersey resident, won $211.7 Million and now holds the record as New Jersey’s single largest lottery winner.

More mega jackpots this summer? I expect we’ll see a $300 million jackpot soon. Lottery hysteria doesn’t die as quickly when you get two mammoth jackpots back to back with unemployment around 10%.

Lottery officials said that over 900,000 prizes were won, however, the jackpot was rolled over from $128mil to $146mil. With this jackpot closing in on $150mil lottery sales are expected to be extremely heavy for Friday night’s 11PM EST drawing.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 2, 17, 22, 32, 51 and the Mega Ball number was 35.
